Twitter has been around for a while now, its established its self as one of the two top dogs in the social network industry. Here you can see the development of their new logo.

Its interesting how a simple restyle can bring the brand forward and show its intentions for the long term. To me the original little bird was kind of cute and chirpy (excuse the pun) and Im sure thats what they intended. The new design is strong, its lost its little hair style, it points up to the sky and seems to have grown up.

Here you can the contrast between the old and the new.

Heres what twitter have to say about the new look.

Our new bird grows out of love for ornithology, design within creative constraints, and simple geometry. This bird is crafted purely from three sets of overlapping circles — similar to how your networks, interests and ideas connect and intersect with peers and friends. Whether soaring high above the earth to take in a broad view, or flocking with other birds to achieve a common purpose, a bird in flight is the ultimate representation of freedom, hope and limitless possibility.

I just completed my first industry related uni assignment. I worked with LBi on a brief to make an app for the London 2012 Olympics. Heres the brief

So thats what we did. Expect some news soon……..

I have to say that the time I spent at LBi was great. Its opened my eyes to the idea of creative ability having nothing to do with technical skills. Thats something really useful to me.

Id also like to say well done and thanks to Jeff and Alex who made up JTA Creative Design Inc with me. We worked well as a team and they put up with my incessant moaning like real pros.
